The Southern Snow Seekers Racing team won numerous NBS medals during the 2009 ski season. This season, we are not only going to continue, we're also going to make our presence felt with the Crescent Ski Council on NASTAR rated courses! We currently have 5 qualified racers!

The SSS will be participating in one Crescent Ski Council (CSC)/ Subaru Development Training Events and 2 Racing Events per the SSS calendar, but there are many more opportunities to train and race as shown in table below. SSS will pay your racing fee ($35) if your NASTAR times qualify you to earn points. Medals need to be paid for by you though, $1.50. Winners of each of the 20 divisions get cool prizes from sponsors. Plus, at the end of day, EVERYONE's name gets put into a drawing to win additional sponsor prizes! Ski equipment and trips are awarded often.
20 divisions means you can be an intermediate skier/ snowboarder or an expert!

The Southern Snow Seekers Racing Team will also be competing at the NBS events: Western Region's Winter Carnival, NBS Mini-Summit, and the Easter Region's Winterfest.

Are you interested in improving your racing skills? This year, you can attend one of the one-day developmental clinics in North Carolina. If you're interested, contact the SSS Racing Director.

This year, the CSC will also be holding terrain park competitions! Two categorires: Beginner/Intermediate, and Advanced. All age levels, and both skiers & riders are welcome.

How to get registered for CSC events:

1. Be a paid member of SSS
   
2. Sign the waiver once for the season: Crescent Racing Liability Waiver
   
3. Then get a handicap & get qualified by one of these optionsÉ.

Option 1

• On any race day, you can qualify in Flight 22 or the more difficult Flight 21.
  
• If you get handicap of 75 or less, you are qualified.
  

Option 2
Attend a Crescent Ski Council Development Training Day and get a 75 or lower Handicap.

Option 3

* Participate in any NASTAR race nationwide, and get a 60 or lower handicap

There is a one time $35 fee if you qualify. This includes future years, as long there is no 2 year span without racing. SSS will only cover your first qualification fee.
